Kym Valley Gardens is a long-established Landscape and Garden Design practice. As Garden Designers we are ideally situated to service our beautiful local shires of Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. We are often asked to design gardens in Leicestershire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Warwickshire, the Cotswolds, Rutland, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, and even North London. However, we are also happy to travel much further afield.
Our garden design service is varied and includes designs for front gardens using quality block paved and gravel driveways. We also design quality English Country Gardens showcasing clipped hedging, garden rooms, terraces, patios, flights of steps, pavilions, ponds and paths all using the finest landscape materials. Our beautiful English-style "Cottage Garden" designs include hedges, paths, topiary, and pleached trees all lifted by the most wonderful herbaceous plants. Our contemporary gardens include sharply rendered walls, fences of slatted Cedarwood, toughened glass balustrades with stainless steel fittings, and architectural or prairie-style planting. We are happy to design any style of garden in any other traditional or contemporary style this just depends upon your taste. Other types of projects that we are requested to work on are barn conversions, newly built houses, garden restorations, housing developments, renovations, school grounds, preschool play areas, restaurants and pubs.

Design
After surveying your garden, a survey plan is drawn to scale, and from this we create a 3D Sketch Design model, when the model is complete we capture views that we present to you in the comfort of your own home or office. Once the sketch design has been agreed we then prepare the Master Plan drawing.
Master
Plan
Once the sketch design has been agreed, we then prepare the Master Plan this is a fully annotated drawing that has been drawn to scale. The drawing shows the positions of borders, paving and garden features. This drawing also includes existing/new levels and short form specifications. This drawing is used by the contractor to price the garden work and set out the garden ready for construction.
Planting
Design
Planting plans are drawn up once the master plan has been completed and agreed, they are based on the position and size of the borders designed and the style of planting required to suit the soil conditions and aspect.
The plants are labelled with the quantities required in the position indicated and entered into a planting schedule which shows the plants name in Latin along with the total number of plants required and their size. This drawing can then used to order the plants and set them out in their correct positions.

Models
Kym Valley Gardens prides itself on being able to explain complex issues in a simple easy to understand way. To help do this we use 3D Visualisation and various computer-aided design packages. High-quality illustrations are an integral part of our work so we can prepare plans and technical illustrations for projects as required. Although computer programs are used for most of our design work, some plans and illustrations can be hand-drawn bringing an additional depth of quality to our design presentations.
