Small Walled Garden, Kings Cliffe
Address: West Street, Kings Cliffe, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
Client: Ms. Sue M
Status: Completed 2012
Project Description: Shady Walled Garden
A mature somewhat overgrown walled garden behind an end of terrace house required a total makeover to create a useable outdoor seating area in the sun retaining space for a rotary clothesline and a small vegetable growing area for the client. The planting was to be low maintenance for and where possible evergreen for winter interest.
It was requested that the garden should be designed to be in keeping with the house a lawn was not required, but the steps and retaining wall were to be rebuilt where necessary. Borders were required to frame the seating area whilst a small gravel area was provided to stand a collection of clay planters and provide access to the clothesline.
Planting was mainly of evergreen Ferns, Heucheras, Pulmonaria, Foxgloves, and other shade tolerant plants, with some carefully chosen fluffy tall herbaceous placed in those areas that catch the afternoon sun.

Turn Your Dream Into A Reality
Gardens are never finished they change with the seasons and plants continue to grow and change. A garden design will provide you with the ultimate concept to work towards, however not all gardens can be afforded in one go, so to complete the final garden may take several years, this will be dependent on your budget and time frame.
It is, however, possible to have a garden designed so that it can be built by the contractor in phases. In this way, a section can be completed and enjoyed, whilst the next phase is completed sometime in the near future.
