Nature conservation is an integral part of the landscape design process. At Kym Valley gardens, we draw on our experience working with the Wildlife Trust and other groups to offer guidance to help clients comply with legislation required by local Planning authorities. We regularly liaise and negotiate with authorities in London, and East Anglia to provide solutions for new habitat creation and its management.

 

Sensitive sites will require an initial phase one survey, this helps to identify important habitats and species and will inform us if a more detailed survey is required for a particular species. This survey helps to inform the final design solution and the landscape and biodiversity strategies for the site. We can also help clients further with the BREEAM criteria for sustainability, now part of meeting local and national Biodiversity Action Plan requirements when developing new sites.
